Chesterfield Canal Walk - December 5th

Posted 6/12/2015

Following a late start due to a delayed train, our party of nine adults and two children enjoyed a nice yet blustery 8.75 miles walk along the Chesterfield Canal towpath.

Leaving the canal on the outskirts of Thorpe Salvin, we walked into the village and stopped off for some liquid refreshment at the Parish Oven.

This was followed by a trek across local paths to Harthill and finally back to Kiveton.

Well done to everyone who came along especially Debbie Coates who walked with DVWG for the first time today and Emily Kirk and Alex Bennett who both topped 70 miles year to date following this walk.
